The people behind Levmet

Andrew Campbell

Chief Executive Officer

Andrew has been instrumental in the growth and development of Levmet from day one.  He is an English qualified solicitor and has an MBA from Imperial College London with over 10 years’ experience in trading environments.  Andrew began his career advising tier one investment banks and some of the biggest hedge funds and asset managers in the world, including Goldman Sachs, GLG, Citadel, Tudor and Credit Suisse, on trading, capital and funding issues.  Following this, Andrew moved into commodities and has subsequently worked in and with successful businesses across most major sectors.

Paul Chivers

Non-Executive Chairman

Paul has over 30 years’ experience in finance and capital raising in the energy and commodities sectors. A former banker with BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank, Paul has led many asset backed financings globally. Paul also held senior roles with Enron and Mercuria most recently as CIO and board member of Mercuria Energy in Geneva. Paul is a non-executive chairman of Levmet.

Ashley Levett

Board Member

Ashley Levett has over 30 years’ experience in the metals industry. His career began at Holco Trading Company, a subsidiary of ED&F Man. After establishing a global forward copper trading business for Drexel Burnham Lambert, he left to form his own successful trading company in the late 1980’s. Following his success in the commodities trading business, he established Fairfx Group PLC in 2005, which is now publicly quoted company on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market.

Kurt Chapman

Board Member

Kurt Chapman joined the Levmet board in May 2023, having been a crude oil trader for 30 years. Previously, he ran the international crude oil business for Mercuria Energy Trading in Geneva. Kurt also traded for several other prominent companies to include Sempra Energy Trading, Koch Supply and Trading and Elf (now TotalEnergies) Trading. He began his career in 1989 at Morgan Stanley, New York, after serving on active duty as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps.  Kurt graduated from Harvard University in 1985 with a degree in economics.

Chris Grover

Chief Operating Officer

Chris has over 20 years’ experience in the commodities industry, across trading and trading operations, chartering, supply, and strategic change. Starting his career at Chevron, before moving into banking, holding management roles at Barclays Capital in London and Singapore, Standard Chartered and most recently Goldman Sachs. He is a Certified Scrum Product Owner, with experience leading complex commodities trading infrastructure projects. Chris joined Levmet in 2022 to lead the group’s operations.

Colin Gresham

Finance Director

 

Colin began his career as an account manager with a property investment company based in the UK. He later moved to Monaco where he obtained is ACCA qualification with Moore Stephens LLP. During his 7 years as a senior auditor he specialised in the audit of investment companies and ultra-high net worth family offices under IFRS. He joined Levmet in 2012 as head of the accounting department and oversees the day to day accounting and treasury functions, budgeting, and reporting.

Rafael Tognon

Head of Risk

Rafael started his risk career in 2006 as a market risk analyst with Itaú UniBanco, the largest private sector bank in Brazil. In 2010, he joined Standard Bank Brazil as a risk manager for the Rates and FX desk. Rafael moved to London in 2012 to work as a Commodities risk manager for the newly formed JV between ICBC and Standard Bank, covering all commodities products and physical operations. Prior to joining Levmet, he also worked for ING Bank N.V in London as the Head of Commodities Derivatives Risk. Rafael has a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Masters in Corporate Finance & Investment Banking. Rafael is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and holds a Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF).
